Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)
Purpose PBIS at Hope Academy is a proactive, school‑wide framework designed to create a positive, predictable, and inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe, supported, and ready to learn. Our approach focuses on teaching expected behaviors, reinforcing positive choices, and building strong relationships that help students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Core Principles of PBIS at Hope Academy
Teach, model, and practice expectations
Students are explicitly taught what “Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be Responsible” looks like in all school settings.
Positive reinforcement through ClassDojo
Hope Academy uses ClassDojo as our school‑wide PBIS reinforcement platform. Staff award points for positive behaviors, effort, kindness, and responsible choices. Families receive real‑time updates, strengthening home–school partnership and transparency. ClassDojo ensures that families and the school are speaking the same language about behavior, expectations, and growth, creating consistency and clarity for students across home and school environments.

Consistent routines and expectations
Predictable procedures help students understand what to do, reduce anxiety, and support smooth transitions.
Data‑informed decision‑making
Behavior data—including ClassDojo trends—is reviewed regularly to identify patterns, guide interventions, and ensure timely support.
Inclusive and supportive practices
PBIS aligns with Hope Academy’s commitment to belonging, neurodiversity, and equitable access to behavioral and academic support.
