Personalized Learning for Every Student

We recognize that every learner follows a unique pathway. Through small class sizes, individualized support, and strong collaboration between teachers, families, and our Support for Learning and Spinnaker teams, students are provided with the tools and strategies needed to access and engage with the curriculum. Fundamental groups further support student’s social-emotional development, wellbeing, and sense of belonging through targeted intervention and academic support. Together, these structures ensure that every student is known, supported, and empowered to achieve their personal best.

Preparing for the Future

The Middle School years serve as an important bridge between Primary School and High School. As students grow in independence, they are supported to develop academic habits, executive functioning skills, and personal attributes necessary for future success. Through a balanced approach that values academic progress alongside social-emotional growth, students leave Middle School as confident learners, effective communicators, and responsible members of the school community.

Explore our Vertical Learning Program

Learn. Create. Explore. Grow

The Vertical Learning Program is an interdisciplinary, student-centered learning experience designed for students in middle school. Students are organized into mixed-grade learning groups and rotate through a series of experiential courses that promote collaboration, develop life skills, foster creative and critical thinking, and integrate real-world problem solving.

Vertical learning brings together students from different grade levels to learn alongside peers with varied experiences, strengths, and perspectives. Research and practice suggest that mixed-age learning environments can promote leadership, mentorship, social and emotional development, independent learning, and collaborative problem-solving while allowing students to engage with peers who share common interests and learning dispositions.
