PADI Scuba Certification Program
Explore Beneath the Surface
At Hope Academy, learning extends beyond the classroom. Through our Recreational Fitness program, Grade 11 and 12 students have the unique opportunity to earn their PADI Open Water Diver Certification as part of their Physical Education credit.
Living in the Cayman Islands provides access to one of the world’s most spectacular marine environments, and this program allows students to develop lifelong skills in scuba diving, water safety, responsibility, and environmental stewardship. Students gain both theoretical and practice knowledge while building confidence through real-world experiences beneath the surface.

Work Experience
Launch Your Future
The Grade 12 Work Experience Program bridges the gap between school and the world of work. As part of graduation requirements, students complete a minimum of 210 hours of workplace experience in their senior year, earning valuable career-focused learning while gaining high school credit.
Working alongside a teacher mentor, students develop essential career readiness skills, including resume development, job searching, interview preparation, workplace communication, and professional conduct. Through mock interviews, goal setting, and ongoing reflection, students build the confidence and skills needed to become productive and responsible employees.
By completing placements aligned with their interests and future aspirations, students gain hands-on experience, explore potential career pathways, strengthen professional networks, and prepare for success in post-secondary education, training, and employment.

International Travel Program
Expanding Horizons Through Global Learning
At Hope Academy, learning extends far beyond the classroom. Through our partnership with WorldStrides, high school students can participate in educational travel experiences that combine academic learning, cultural exploration, and personal growth.
Our International Travel Program allows students to explore new destinations, connect classroom concepts to real-world experiences, and develop valuable life skills such as independence, adaptability, leadership, and global awareness. Whether walking through historic landmarks, exploring diverse ecosystems, or engaging with different cultures, students gain meaningful experiences that broaden their perspectives and create lasting memories.
Hope Academy students have proudly participated in educational travel experiences to:
-
Washington, D.C. - Exploring American history, government, and national landmarks.
-
Costa Rica – Discovering biodiversity, sustainability, and environmental conservation.
-
Orlando, Florida – Experiencing theme parks, educational, cultural, and leadership-focused opportunities.
-
U.S. National Parks (Spring 2027) – Investigating some of North America's most remarkable natural landscapes while learning about ecology, geology, and conservation.
These transformative experiences help students become confident, globally minded learners who are prepared to engage with the world beyond Hope Academy.

Service Learning
Making a Difference
Service-Learning provides students with meaningful opportunities to apply their learning beyond the classroom while making a positive impact in the wider community. Through partnerships with local organizations, students contribute their time, skills, and talents to causes that support the wellbeing of others and strengthen the wider community.
Learning Through Service
Integrated within the Grade 11 Civics curriculum, Service Learning helps students develop a deeper understanding of citizenship, responsibility, and community engagement. By volunteering with local organizations and reflecting on their experiences, students gain valuable insights into social issues while developing empathy, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Becoming Active Citizens
At Hope Academy, we believe that education extends beyond academic achievement. Service Learning encourages students to become active, compassionate, and responsible citizens who understand the importance of giving back. Through authentic community experiences, students develop a lifelong commitment to service while building the confidence and skills needed to make a meaningful difference in the world around them.
