Standing Together Against
Bullying
💙 November Focus: Standing Up to Bullying All Month Long
Throughout November, Hope Academy dedicated itself to building a culture of kindness, respect, and inclusion. Our month-long Anti-Bullying campaign featured creative activities, student-led initiatives, and powerful reminders that every voice matters.
From bracelet sales supporting wellness, to colorful sidewalk chalk messages, to Civvy Day and inspiring assemblies, students and staff worked together to show that bullying has no place in our community.
The Poster Competition and Student Council leadership added extra energy and creativity, making the campaign both meaningful and memorable.
This month-long focus reminded us that standing up to bullying isn’t just about one week; it’s about the choices we make every day. Thank you to our students, staff, and families for helping us live out our values of kindness and unity.

🎤 Grade 4/5 Assembly: Standing Up to Bullying
Our Grade 4/5 students took the stage with confidence and heart during their Stand Up to Bullying Assembly presentation. They reminded us all of the importance of kindness, respect, and inclusion.
The assembly was both inspiring and thought‑provoking, showing how even our youngest leaders can make a big impact. Their message was clear: at Hope Academy, we stand together against bullying and celebrate the power of positive choices.

🌬️ Science in Action: Wind Vanes Experiment
Our students had a blast exploring the science of weather with a Generation Genius experiment! Using simple materials, they built their very own wind vanes to discover how we can tell which way the wind is blowing.
The excitement grew as students tested their creations outdoors, watching the arrows spin and turn in the breeze was both fun and educational. This hands-on activity sparked curiosity and gave everyone a chance to see science come alive.
SECONDARY MUSIC
🎬 Grade 10: Creating Soundtracks for Film
This month, our Grade 10 students began an exciting journey into the world of music production and film scoring. Using Ableton Live, a powerful tool embraced by modern artists, they are discovering how sound can transform storytelling on screen.
Through hands-on exploration of Arrangement View, students are learning to record, design, and compose using the sounds of their everyday lives. From footsteps and voices to ambient noises, they’re experimenting with how ordinary sounds can become extraordinary when woven into music.
This project is not only about technical skills; it’s about imagination, collaboration, and the power of sound to shape emotion. We can’t wait to see the unique soundtracks they’ll produce and how their music will bring stories to life.

HOPE ACADEMY BOYZ 2 MEN CHAPTER
INTERNATIONAL MEN’S DAY 2025
On Wednesday, November 10, 2025, our Hope Academy Boyz2Men Chapter hosted our 3rd Annual “Dress for Success Day – A Shirt & Tie Edition” where boys and staff were allowed to dress up in shirts and ties (and suits) for the day. This event marks our celebration of International Men’s Day, celebrated under the theme: “Celebrating and Supporting our Men and Boys”.
“Dress for Success” refers to the practice of dressing in a manner that is appropriate, professional, and well-groomed to convey competence, confidence, and a positive image. This principle is important for our young men, as it can have a significant impact on various aspects of their lives, such as first impressions, confidence, respect, and responsibility.
Coordinator of our Boyz2Men (Hope Chapter), Mr. Norman Howell PMJF (who also serves as the President of the Lions Club of Tropical Gardens), in his IMD Message, reminded us that “men and boys play vital roles in shaping families, communities, and nations. From fathers and mentors to innovators and caregivers, their impact is profound and far-reaching. Yet, too often, the emotional, mental, and social challenges they face go unnoticed. Today is a call to action: to celebrate their achievements and to support their well-being with compassion and purpose”.
He further stated that “as mentors and Lions, we believe in services that transform lives. Let us use this day to: encourage positive role models in our schools, homes, and workplaces; promote open conversations around men’s mental health and emotional wellness; empower boys with the tools, education, and mentorship they need to thrive and stand against stereotypes and build inclusive spaces where every individual can grow”.
The Day ended with our regular After-School Club meeting and Barbecue Session, where we were addressed by Mr. James “Jamo” Myles, Director of the National Youth Culinary Programme in the Ministry of Youth, Sports, Culture and Heritage. He spoke to the Boyz about his experience of preparing and working with students for the World Junior Barbecue League that is held in Memphis, Tennessee, USA. He encouraged our boys who were interested to get involved in the local training programmes and compete in the Cayman Competition in the coming months. Forms were distributed to the boys who were present. We closed the session with our “Boyz Who Cook” activity, where we grilled hot dogs for all mentees and mentors present.
